About You

Our Mentors typically range in age from mid-forties lo late 80's with the average age being mid-fifties. Our mentors appreciate that they can work remotely from home, cottages, boats and other locations to assist their companies around the world. And you can do this without having to travel or put on a tie – if you choose not to. Some of our Mentors do travel, particularly as the company become successful but this is often as much social as it is business; to meet the management and teams they have been assisting.

Some of our Mentors are doing better financially assisting companies far less of their time than when they were full time workers. If we have chosen a company, that has a great product or service and only lacks talent, everyone shares in the growth and success of the company which can be substantial.

Our Mentors have different needs. Many of our Mentors advise and assist for enjoyment and excitement of helping to launch new technologies. Others are playing catch up on building their retirement nest eggs and are looking to add more equity and growth to their retirement portfolios. Our Mentors choose their assignments, the amount of time they are willing to devote and when they are available.

Our typical mentor is looking for balance in life; we find that for most, a full-time job or full-time retirement is not desirable or healthy. We offer a lifestyle that allows flexibility and balance. Helping young technology companies and new ventures is exciting and fun which is what most retired and semi-retired executives miss the most. We do have Mentors who are not retired but like to allocate some of their time to “play” in the lucrative area of start ups.

Our Mentors come from every business background from retired entrepreneurs to professionals such as Attorneys, Accountants, Engineers, Programmers and Designers, but many are just hard working ordinary businessmen. They have developed experience and specialties during their careers and this knowledge is crucial for young companies that have great new products and services but little business acumen.

We also find that majority of our mentors enjoy the satisfaction that they are using their skills to give back and make a difference for the companies and the people they choose to assist. Our mentors forge new friendships with their clients as well as their fellow Mentors. Often when we create an advisory board, most, if not all the team will request to work together on a new or secondary project.
